Episode 99 Transcript – MLX, the secret to a great deal
You’re live here with Jessi Johnson. I’m inside the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey so I have to keep my voice down out of respect. Before I show you this immaculate building, I wanted to give one tip today with regards to the difference between the MLX and the MLS. They are two totally separate systems. The MLX is a system that realtors use to upload all their properties onto the MLS. MLS now just so you know, not to be confused, is actually called Realtor.ca. What happens is when you as an individual are looking to research properties online you’ll go to www.realtor.ca, formerly www.mls.ca, type in search criteria and up pops your property. Then you can discuss this, go check it out, contact them directly, however you so choose. The downside of this is, this is old news. What I mean by that is MLX, when realtors upload their information on the property it takes about two days to actually hit realtor.ca. That being said you’re essentially reading old news. That’s my blurp of the day. Just as a reminder that if you are working with a realtor the benefit of this is you can get properties in a hot market when they’re listed, not two days later when they could have already been sold. This structure, the Blue Mosque, here’s the main entrance way for non-Muslim visitors. The building itself took roughly ten years to construct. It is absolutely stunning. This thing is beautiful, beautiful building. It was first constructed by a sultan who was 14 years of age if you can actually believe that. He went on to live another 14 years before he died at the age of 28. The building over here, you can see by that boundary line, that’s where the male Muslim men are able to go and pray. Visitors are not allowed past that point. They’ve got little rooms here if you can see on the sides, where woman and children are allowed to come and pray. Pretty neat stuff. This will be one of my last videos from Turkey before I head back home and finally do some work again. You can reach me at www.firsthomeinfo.ca or www.jessijohnson.ca. Remember to own your life. Have a good day. Bye.
