Episode 93 Transcript – Paperless Office
Hello! This is Friday afternoon with Jessi Johnson and Darren Popoff. Say hello Darren. [Hello Darren.] Very well done. My topic of the day today is MyFax. Darren and I work out of one of my offices in White Rock and we have switched to a paperless office which I couldn’t be happier with doing. We’ve pretty much gotten rid of our existing fax machine. Everything is done on MyFax which is a virtual fax. You don’t have to use MyFax, it’s just the one that we seemed to really like. I’m interviewing Darren today. Real quickly Darren, please tell us about MyFax. [Just trying to remove the paper from my desk since we are paperless.] We are paperless, yes. Good point, very good point. [We use paper for coasters.] New coasters. So MyFax. We’ve got MyFax on here. That’s more paper. What’s that? [That's actually files that used to be about 3" thick that now have only 4 or 5 sheets in them.] OK, so MyFax, I don’t know if you guys can see this, is internet based. Explain it to us oh great one! [Are you going to edit this?] No. [No. OK, MyFax is a virtual fax that turns everything into PDF documents. You end up with a regular phone number when you sign up with them. What you do is you give that phone number out to people who need to fax you documents. Those documents are then, if they have a traditional fax machine, they fax those documents to you and what MyFax does is convert them into a PDF and emails you those PDF's. What we get on our end is an email. It goes through to our BlackBerry or through email in our Outlook Inbox. Any documents that were sent through are turned into PDF documents so we as mortgage brokers don't have to turn around and reprint all of that and then refax it to all the lenders. Essentially we can eliminate the printing process, take a PDF that has signatures on it and resend that document back to the lender without ever having to print it so we save trees in the process and time and it becomes very efficient.] Efficiency is definitely the key to running a proper office. You’re obviously a broker as well. [I am.] If people want to reach you with any mortgage related questions, what’s your number? [604-818-9262.] What is your personalized website? [It is www.mortgagebydarren.com.] Awesome. That’s it on MyFax. You can go to www.myfax.ca and do a quick tutorial. What does it cost? It’s per page but you pay a certain amount. [It's anywhere from $10 a month to $50 a month depending on how many times you send or receive.] $10 to $50 a month so check it out. MyFax allows you to work very efficient. You can reach me at www.firsthomeinfo.ca or www.jessijohnson.ca. Remember to Own Your Life. Have a good day. Bye!
