Episode 80 Transcript – Jon Stewart vs Jim Cramer

You’re live with Jessi Johnson. Something I want to talk about today which has been on every single headline of news for the past, I guess accumulative, six months. The crash of the global economy, global recession due to the American sub prime. This goes a lot deeper than a lot of people realize. I’m not going to get into it. One of the major issues is you have people endorsing and essentially in bed with a lot of these major corporations and they are providing fraudulent information, inaccurate statistics. Just a whole slew of bad garbage information to encourage you to buy the wrong stock, go ahead and buy this mortgage at 110% loan to value. Teaser rates. All these things that probably we shouldn’t have and here’s where it gets really cool. There’s a gentleman by the name of Jon Stewart. Kind of like a Rick Mercer kind of guy. He’s got a show on the Comedy network. I’ve always really liked him. Very entertaining, informative. He takes a look at current news and puts a comedic touch to it. Adds a spin. Pretty funny stuff. He recently did an interview with Jim Cramer from Mad Money. It’s on an American station who likes to pride himself on being financially savvy. Jim Cramer, if you don’t know the name, is kind of an older bald guy. Rolls the arms of his dress shirt kind of like a construction worker and really obnoxious. He has a show on stock predictions. Jon Stewart has been picking on this guy in his show for awhile and he actually convinced him to come on his show. You’ve got to see it. He roasts him! Absolutely destroys him! If Jim Cramer has any career after this interview I’ll be blown away. Not to pick on Jim Cramer but he’s made some brutal, brutal predictions and suggestions on national television about companies saying, “Oh their companies fine, not going to crash, it’s great”, and then going bankrupt two days later. Not someone you want to listen to for stock advice. I’m not saying the guy’s not intelligent, don’t get me wrong, just according to what he’s said in the past not good. At the bottom of my blogs, if you look down or up depending on which website, it’ll have a description. I’m going to provide links in there. Those links are three clips on the Comedy network. Go and watch it. He rips him apart and by the end of the show Jim Cramer is kissing his ass. It’s pretty funny. This is a perfect example of why not to listen to media and to be very cautious to whom you pay attention to and take advice from. I’m Jessi Johnson. I try not to give too much advice so it won’t be held against me in the future. You can reach me at www.jessijohnson.ca or www.firsthomeinfo.ca. Check out Jon Stewart’s show. It’s pretty good, it’s on the Comedy network. Have a good day!
