Episode 69 Transcript – Tubemogul

Hello! You’re here with Jessi Johnson live. I have a very interesting topic today so what it is about is distributing video like video blogs or video whatever to multiple websites with one click of the mouse. For those who are not looking at all to distribute video on the internet, you’ll probably want to skip this blog. Those who do, you will find this awesome. There’s a website called www.tubemogul.com. I’m going to show you how it works. I am on Google on my laptop here. I am going to type in tubemogul. As you can see on the screen here, you record your video, you upload it and then you distribute it to all your websites by which ones you so choose. I’m going to log in here and give you guys a quick demonstration. I’m all logged in now, I’m good to go. There’s a number of things on here and features which are great. Just so that you totally understand, you record your video first, whether it is skateboarding, how to build a hot tub while camping, whatever you want to do and you upload your video onto here by clicking this, Upload Video, on the top left hand corner. Choose your video, we’ll go to Episode 68 here, hit upload and it allows you to add a title, it allows you to put in a description and some various tags. These are important when people are trying to find your video on Google or various search engines. You also have the option of how to. I’m not going to upload this right now. I’m going to ignore that because I think it actually is already uploaded. Next one we’re going to go to is Launch and Promote a Video is your next step. See if we can find Episode 68. Here it is. Generally they are put in chronological order but if you upload a few at one time some might upload faster so it won’t be in chronological order. It will be in upload time but not according to your actual numeric numbers here so 68 and 65 etc. We’re going to go to this, Keeping a Database. I haven’t actually distributed this video yet. You can also click on the left hand side and believe it or not, you can actually pick which thumbnail you would like to use. Pretty cool. This program itself is essentially free up until a certain amount of deploys. A deploy, what that is, is if I upload a video to You Tube, Yahoo, My Space, whatever, four but I upload one video. What happens when you push the button and it sends it out to four at one time that counts as four deploys. I think you are allowed about a hundred a month. They allow you to have a lot. For those of you doing mass distribution they have a monthly program that you can sign up for and it has a whole whack of extra features that I highly recommend you looking into. Getting back to what we were talking about. Keeping a Database, you can go to More and you can edit your Metadata which is your description title and all that jazz, change your thumbnail or delete the video. Don’t want to do that. I’m just going to go to Launch. Now if you go to Launch, these are the websites that I’ve chosen on the side. It’s got my password and user names all saved. You can also go to more sites, there’s a whole whack more sites here. Now this is where it becomes important because you don’t want to create a video of you signing with guitar and promote it on a how-to like Howcast for example. Everything has to be how to do this and according to steps. It’s a neat website but it’s a niche website and a lot of these websites are only for movies, TV shows, whatever. Myself, I found this out the hard way that my content, believe it or not, not everybody actually wants to read or look at, listen to, however you want to put it. I was actually booted off a couple of sites and in doing further research, tubemogul actually has tubemogul university. You can contact them for details on that. One of the gentlemen at tubemogul actually broke it down, your videos are great but you have to make sure you’re sending them to the right places. This is key especially since video on the internet is becoming ever so more popular. Pick your niche, stick to it. Some websites are only designed for certain things. Do your research first. Figure out where to send it and your content will thrive there. Otherwise you are going to be wasting countless hours uploading videos to all the wrong sites and getting absolutely no views and just feeling the internet is garbage because people won’t go to certain websites. They won’t go to music sites and look for mortgage related stuff unfortunately. Back to this, I’ve picked 2, 4, 6, 7, 8 sites and those are where I’m going to upload my content to. Then you click Launch on the bottom, although I’ve actually already exceeded my amount of video deploys for the month, so I can’t do anymore until February 1 which means I need to upgrade my account. You can always go to Track Your Videos. Right down here it shows all the videos, like Met Cafe, I’m almost up to 4,000. We’ll click on them right now. You can actually go to your reports. This is cool. It shows which days, obviously these days I didn’t have very many hits. January 2, my birthday, feel free to send me presents, I had 107 hits. I know on some videos, one of these the other day I had 700 hits in just one day. Pretty cool. There’s a lot you can do. There’s more advanced tools that I’m not going to get into but bottom line I’m making this video blog too long at this point. You can reach me at www.firsthomeinfo.ca. If you’re looking into video check out www.tubemogul.com and you’ll be impressed. Have a good day! I’m Jessi Johnson, bye.
