Episode 17 Transcript – Ishtar Transition Housing Society

Hi! I’m Jessi Johnson here and I’m at Sutton Group West Coast Realty in Langley. I’m with Dorothy Mckim and we’re doing a community event promoting the Ishtar Transition Housing Society. Please do tell, enlighten us what this is about. [The Ishtar Transition Housing Society provides transition housing for women and children who are fleeing abuse. We have two transition houses, one in Langley and one in Aldergrove. We also offer community based victim service program, we offer Stop the Violence Against Women counselling program. We have children who witness abuse counselling program and we also have a men's program called Building Better Relationships program for men. So gradually we are building our services here for the community and we've added outreach workers recently, we've added camps for the children and gradually we'll just continue to build.
