Episode 138 Transcript – Sharad Khare
Jessi: You live with Jessi Johnson and Sharad Khare, it’s great to see you!
Sharad: Hi! Thank you for having me!
Jessi: Sharad does many, many things that are cutting edge and I would love to take a couple of minutes of your time and share with us exactly the key niche points on what you do.
Sharad: Well my background is in media and I was a TV host for many years, still I’m on air and I started to see the cost basis for how much things would cost on television as opposed to producing them for the internet. So whether it be a commercial, information spots, regular day to day blogging or video blogging and so, I simply just translated what was being shown on TV and have produced high quality commercials, podcast commercials, information dissemination type of videos for the internet. That’s been my specialty and I have removed myself from in front of the camera to be behind the camera so I can interview others. My background is interviewing people on TV, I had great success in doing that but I thought in this modern age people themselves are becoming celebrities by their product, their service and these are small business people. And so I wanted to take the time to help them by interviewing them on camera, getting them known and making the comfort factor a big one so they feel comfortable on camera and being able to expose their brand, their thoughts or their services online. It’s as simple as that!
Jessi: So it’s surprising that you’re off camera, because you’re very good…
Sharad: Why thank you!
Jessi: So you must focus on viral marketing?
Sharad: Yes.
Jessi: That’s such an amazing concept these days!
Sharad: Well I think, I mean everyone talks about social media marketing and at first I think I just became addicted to getting on my facebook and see what was going on out there. I really like watching what other people are doing that was interesting. Whether it be watching one of Jessi’s podcast or other people, I always like the visual stuff. Essentially because I was in tune with that, that’s what I do. I suddenly realized that, ‘wait I can get my own information out there’! As a part of the social media strategy, it’s like a personal messaging shouldn’t just be thought of that day and you just say, ‘hey I feel great, I’m going to put it out there’. I think it has to be very contriving and very thought out. It has to be something that is planned, that is why I sit with people once or twice, or talk to them over the phone or before I do this live interview, or before I produce their commercial for them. Because I want them to realize that once you put it out there, whether it’s one person watching or a hundred people watching it’s going to cause and effect. Causes that what you wanted to happen the effects could be something totally different. So make sure that what’s on your mind comes out to the viewers out there, that’s really, really…
Jessi: Planned!
Sharad: Yeah!
Jessi: Yeah, like putting people on the spot like I did to you.
Sharad: There you go! Never, never… No. But this is a very good conversation to have. I think back to the viral marketing, what’s really, really great what the internet has done. It is taking the regular everyday folk and made them true controllers of information out there. And we’ve taken it away from the so-called professionals putting out information that is very poised, that’s very scripted and we’re bringing it to you in a very real way. I think that we’re doing…
Jessi: Social media revolution..
Sharad: Yeah that’s right!
Jessi: So if I wanted to contact you, about anything that you just said, you’re a very personable guy
Sharad: Thank you! Yeah
Jessi: Pick up the phone, answer email….
Sharad: Yeah, anytime!
Jessi: Can we find you on Twitter?
Sharad: Yes! I’m on KhareCom, K-H-A-R-E-C-O-M on Twitter, I’m on facebook you can look up Khare Communications or you know you can even tag me or ask me where I am, SHARADKARE and then we also have Khare Communications website it’s Kharecommunications. I have my own blog it’s www.sharadslunchbox.com
Jessi: Nice, nice!
Sharad: Which I just interviewed Jessi for that, and you can just google me, I put clips on to youtube or I’ve been metatag in clips on youtube or pictures on the net. I believe if you just go search somebody, find a little biot more about them before you call them and you will know what you want to talk to them about. You’ll know what you want to say to them and in turn you’ll know what you want to say to the world. So I encourage you to do that!
Jessi: Finishing line… also we will be doing some work…
Sharad: Yes!
Jessi: In the future… so if you want a reference point call me as well.
Sharad: Anytime… Jessi Johnson (pointing at Jessi) and Sharad Khare!
Jessi: It’s a pleasure, thank you very much for your time.
Sharad: It’s a pleasure! Yeah!
