Episode 5 Transcript – Dogs and their effect on Vancouver property value
Hi! This is Jessi Johnson again giving you video from my house. My girlfriend, the lovely woman that she is, made an interesting point and asked me a question this afternoon. If having dogs will be detrimental to the value of your property? Now at my home, we have lots of dogs. As you can see here by my little man eating puppies, we have a few dogs outside as well, that we have a property big enough to hold these animals. Our lot is about 7000 square feet but has a fair amount of damage to the grass that is done by the dogs. Other than that, there isn’t a considerable amount of damage done to the house. Now if you have a dog that is going to cause a fair amount of damage to your furniture, your property, leave feces everywhere and your property isn’t that well kept, it definitely will be detrimental to the value when you are selling your home. If you do have a dog make sure to clean up after your dog. Make sure the personal hygiene is good if you are going to be showing your house with the dog in presence. Now if you have a family coming through the property that you’re showing and they see another family; husband, wife, child with a dog beside it, hand in hand that might fit the appearance that they are looking for, there’s a chance that they might provide an offer a little bit more than they normally would because of seeing that dog. Otherwise you are not going to have much of a difference with a dog provided that it hasn’t done much damage. Anyways, that my comments on that and have a good day. If you want to have anymore questions answered you may send them to firsthomeinfo.ca and there’s a very good chance I might answer them on the video. Have a good day, bye!
